Qarabag vs Chelsea – Team News

Chelsea are returning to Champions League action, as we travel all the way to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag FK on Wednesday’s early 17:00 kick-off!

The Blues can secure their place in the knock-out stages with a win today, while Atletico Madrid and AS Roma face each other later in the evening.

Chelsea have set up a slightly rotated side for today’s game with a vital Premier League tie against Liverpool coming up on Saturday. Antonio Conte has decided to go with 3-4-3 instead of the recently used 3-5-2 formation.

Changes in personnel have also been made. The Blues’ main striker Alvaro Morata is given a rest ahead of the weekend, with Eden Hazard taking his place upfront, most likely playing as a false nine with Willian and Pedro alongside him.

In the defence, David Luiz comes in for Andreas Christensen, while Antonio Rudiger replaces Gary Cahill. Tiemoue Bakayoko is also given a rest as Chelsea switch to two-man midfield.

Here’s how today’s teams shape up…

CHELSEA:

QARABAG:

Starting XI: Sehic; Medvedev, Sadygov (c) Rzezniczak, Agolli; Guerrier, Almeida, Michel, Garayev, Madatov, Ndlovu.

Subs: Kanibolotskiy, Diniyev, Sheydaev, Amirguliyev, Qunitana, Ismayilov, Yunuszada.
