Former Chelsea player reserves praise for Blues despite debatable loan policy

Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke has praised his former club, Chelsea, about their loan policy that sends almost every academy player out temporarily before eventually usualling selling them permanently.

Having gone through the youth system at Chelsea, he sees good reason why this helps the youngsters, instead of halting their careers.

After Solanke made his England debut, following his move to Liverpool last summer, the 20-year old thanks Chelsea for sending him out on loan that led to impressing the Liverpool decision makers to come in for him.

“It helps you as a young player, going out and seeing a different [type of] football and culture. I think that can only help playing men’s football when you are young. I think that helped me.”

Solanke has been called from the Liverpool bench by Jurgen Klopp nine times in the Premier League and has only started once in all competitions.

Klopp has belief he could end up being one of the biggest stars in English football after securing him from Chelsea, controversially, but many still doubt he has that top class ability.
