Jamie Carragher names four Chelsea players in his 2017 Premier League XI

Chelsea may be placing a lowly fourth behind Manchester United, Man City and Tottenham Hotspur, but their squad still possesses some of the best quality in the English top flight according to Jamie Carragher.

The former Liverpool centre back unveiled his Premier League team of 2017 for the Telegraph, and the list includes four Chelsea players.

Carragher went for Cezar Azilicueta in his dream four-man defense alongside Spurs defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Marcos Alonso was picked in the left full back position, although he plays in a more advanced role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 setup.

Carragher, now football pundit for Sky Sports, also picked N’Golo Kante in central midfield to partner Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool’s Philipe Coutinho.

Finally, he argued Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is the best Premier League player and should be picked in the team.

“I think he has been the outstanding player in the Premier League over the past three or four years so he has to play on that left-hand side.”

All four players will likely be called on by Conte in Chelsea’s home game against Crystal Palace this weekend.
