Jose Mourinho claims Antonio Conte’s title winning campaign produced less quality than his in 2015

Jose Mourinho has taken a dig at Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, claiming his team’s style and quality in 2015 was greater than that of Italian last season.

Mourinho was sacked a season after winning the title in 2015, but returned the bragging rights to Stamford Bridge as the Chelsea fans could smile again after a five year title drought.

His Chelsea side dominated the league ruled the league standings for 274 days – a record at the top of the table, breaking the previous set by Manchester United in 2993/94. But that is not what Mourinho is referring to. He talks about the attacking football his side displayed in their march to triumph.

For me, let’s be honest and objective. The last three Premier League champions, Chelsea with Mourinho, Leicester with Ranieri, Chelsea with Conte, which of these teams was the most offensive one? Which played more quality football? It was mine. But nobody says.

We showed absolutely everything since day one, everything football demands from a team, we had fantastic attacking football, we had fantastic domination… we defended amazingly well.

Jose Mourinho, Goal

Mourinho led Chelsea to the title while scoring 73 times while Conte’s Chelsea scored 85 goals last season. The 10 goal difference in there does not seem a big deal to Mourinho who now manager Manchester United, and will prefer his word is taken over the facts.

His Manchester United side have now scored 10 goals this season after three games, beating the first two opponents 4-0 each.
