Frank Lampard calls on Chelsea target to make switch

Chelsea’s pursuit of Everton’s Ross Barkley has take a huge leap after Frank Lampard called on the player to make the switch for career progress.

The Everton midfielder has been linked to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the last few weeks with impressions from his camp that he has played his last game for the club.

The 23-year old is highly rated and been chased by Mauricio Pochettino this summer, as he seeks a replacement for Moussa Dembele, a player he doe not trust much to last the entire season due to injuries.

Lampard, every young Premier league midfielder’s role model has told Barkley to make the switch to a top club like he did, if he wants to create a legacy.

Looking at it from the outside, he’s 23 now and he’s always had pockets of games where he’s done well and we talk about him.

His England career has done a bit of that as well because he’s never done that throughout a season, so maybe a change would be good for him.

At some stage sometimes, I did it as a young lad at West Ham, you have to try and go out of your comfort zone and try something else. Everton fans might not want to hear that, but everybody moves on.

Chelsea are yet to make a concrete offer for the England international but it’s looking highly likely the Blues will make him one of their priority signings before transfer deadline.

Chelsea are also linked with Danny Drinkwater and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain following the capture of AS Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.
