OFFICIAL: John Terry joins Aston Villa

Chelsea legend John Terry has joined Aston Villa Monday.

The move was confirmed by Villa chairman Dr. Tony Xia, taking a dig at local rivals Birmingham City in a tweet Monday.

The center back has agreed personal terms with Steve Bruce’s side after rejecting several offers across the globe.

Terry rejected moves from some Premier League clubs as he does not see himself playing against his childhood club Chelsea.

Having played more than 20 years at Chelsea, the former England international rejected moves to Swansea, Bournemouth and West Brom.

He will earn £60,000 per week at the Midlands and has been promised a role in coaching after his 12-month stint.

Terry saw a reduced role at Chelsea last season, playing second fiddle to David Luiz, Cezar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill.
