Man United and Juventus target Nemanja Matic won’t be part of Chelsea pre-season tour

According to the Daily Telegraph, Nemanja Matic will sit out Chelsea’s pre-season tour in Asia as he pushes for a move away from the club.

Matic has been part of Chelsea’s training so far this week although the Sun reported earlier he has been training separately and will deliberately ask not to travel with his teammates on Monday to China.

Having been hinted that he is not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans next season, with the pursuit of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matic has been keen on moving out of London.

But Arsenal have also appeared on the list of admirers of the 29-year old. The Gunners are ready to offer Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain as part exchange for Matic.

Right next to them is Juventus who have made the Serbian a target ahead of next season. Manager Massimiliano Allegri is a huge admirer of the Serbia international and would take advantage of Chelsea’s chase for Alex Sandro.

Chelsea are willing to let Matic travel abroad, instead of selling to any of their local rivals, Manchester United and Arsenal, and would welcome the decision to see Matic leave to Italy.

An exchange could be on the cards with Allegri having monitored Matic for sometime now including making attempts to sign the midfielder last summer.

Matic made 35 appearances in the Premier League last season, 30 of them were starts, scoring one goal.
