Chelsea legend declares his intention to return to Stamford Bridge

Ashley Cole has declared to Sky Sports that he is keen to return to Chelsea when he has retired as a coach or a scout.

The defender made 338 appearances between 2006 and 2014 for Chelsea and is now enjoying life in LA with the LA Galaxy.

But regarding his future, the sometime controversial fullback has made it clear that he has always seen a future for himself in the game, whether in a coaching or in a scouting capacity.

Cole said that he always tries to “nurture young players” now he’s one of the senior figures in the dressing room, and the wealth of experience he has at the very top level – including of course the 2012 Champions League trophy as well as countless FA Cups – would be incredibly valuable to add to an academy that already has former players like Jody Morris doing a great job.

As soon as you’re ready Ashley, you’re welcome back at the Bridge.
