Diego Costa has talked about Didier Drogba and the Ivorian striker’s influence on him.
Costa, quoted by the Evening Standard, admitted that he used to watch Costa on before he ever joined Chelsea, and thought of the former Marseille man as the ideal role model for a centre forward.
Even once he had come to Stamford Bridge the Brazilian was still learning from Drogba in training. He specifically thanks Didier for being so welcoming to him and helping him find his feet in West London. Costa has not settled perfectly off the pitch, but on it there was not a second of hesitation from the momment his debut goal hit the net.
Chelsea have been truly blessed to have a player of Drogba’s quality, and the transition to Costa has been very smooth. Now we know that we can thank Didier for making that move even easier, both for us and for Diego.
