Chelsea transfer target insists he is happy where he is

Chelsea have been linked with a variety of strikers in the last few weeks as Antonio Conte apparently searches for reasonable backup for Diego Costa.

One of those mentioned as a potential target was Javier Hernandez of Bayer Leverkusen, formerly of Manchester United.

It was a rumour that received a mixed response, with most people not wanting to see us spend any big money on a good but ultimately limited player, who would not even be able to fit the current system in the way Diego Costa does.

The good news for those that weren’t keen on Hernandez is that he has all but ruled himself out of a move, being quoted in the Metro today as saying he is “happy” in the Bundesliga, where he is finally starting every game.

It seems unlikely now that he would be keen to move back to Premier League benchwarmer now he’s had a taste of what it’s like being the main man.
