Although Conte has only had 3 days of training with the players, the Chelsea boss is already setting very high targets and in Hazard he has the biggest of expectations.
During his post match press conference he sent a message to the 2014/15 Footballer of the Year, insisting that he can mould him into Chelsea’s Lionel Messi.
I think that Chelsea have players who can become top, top, top players. I think that these players can still improve a lot with work.
Because now we have players, fantastic players, who have great talent but in this moment the world doesn’t think they are the same level as Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo or Paul Pogba.
Hazard had the the season of his life in the 2014-15 campaign and was rewarded with the Footballer of the Year award as Chelsea won the Premier League title.
Last season he and really struggled with injuries, but there was also a few other distractions with his boss Jose starting war with everyone on and off the field. But Hazard managed to end the season with 3 or 4 great performances before heading to the Euro’s where although Belgium underperformed, Hazard was the one carrying them.
Conte has vowed to get the best out of Hazard and Willian and can see no reason why they wont soon be ranked alongside the best players in the world.
We know that when you have great players with great talent like Hazard in the team, the expectations are very high. Also, when the season before you have won the title and Hazard has been named the best player in the league.
It’s important for us to recover Hazard in the best condition: technique, tactical, physical, overall and with the good mentality.
