Chelsea join chase for Juventus ace Morata

Chelsea have joined Premier League rivals, Arsenal in the pursuit of the signature of Juventus and former Real Madrid hit man, Alvaro Morata.

The 23-year-old, who is thought to be a £51m target for the Gunners, has not extended his contract and he is yet to commit his future to the Old Ladies of Turin, who are the current champions of Italy.

It has been claimed by The Telegraph that Chelsea could themselves make an approach for Morata, while also exploring the possibility of re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

The Blues of England are said to be desperate for a top notch striker having relied on former Atletico Madrid and Spain international, Diego Costa throughout the just ended season and could free up some funds by selling Loic Remy.

It is suggested that, Chelsea could go in for Napoli and Argentina striker, Gonzalo Higuain, only if they are unsuccessful in securing the signatures of both Lukaku and Morata.

Morata is expected to leave Turin ahead of next season, with Real Madrid able to purchase their former player in a £25m buy-back deal and sell him on at a larger price should they wish.
