Only one England Captain!

His man of the match performance in the 2-0 win over Tottenham in The Capital One Cup Final on Sunday is a reflection of how impressive he has been this season.

Not only did he lead by example, captaining The Blues to a deserved victory, but he also scored the crucial opening goal.

Stats produced on the Opta powered fantasy football game, Oulala, show an all round improvement in all aspects of his game in the Premier League this season (26 games) versus the 13/14 campaign (34 games).

For example, his shot accuracy has leapt from 36 % to 62%, as has his goals per game ratio of 0.06 to 0.12. Defensively, ground duels won and ariel duels won have increased by 9% & 7% respectively – and tackles won have gone up from 47.3% to 68%. He is also yet to pick up a yellow card in this season’s Premier League competition.

JT may have lost some of his pace, but he is still the best centre back in the league. According to Sky Sports News, he is fighting to secure himself a new one year contract.

I am fighting for myself and my family, and to prove people wrong.

“I have a little target to play next year but beyond that, two or three (more), I don’t know.”

JT made his debut for Chelsea FC over 17 years ago. In over 500 appearances he has won every major trophy. His blood is blue. On being asked whether he would play for another club, he said

“No, and I also think there is a right time to go as well.”

Certainly I am feeling great at the minute and it would be the wrong time to go.

Although loving his return to Wembley and admitting to getting emotional during The National Anthem, JT has ruled out the possibility of resuming his international career.

I have drawn a line under it and the England squad can move on.

The ball, so to speak, is in Chelsea’s hands. On his current form, I think it would be crazy not to extend his contract.

Sign him up Chelsea!

Captain. Leader. Legend.
