Match Report: Chelsea steam past Newcastle 3-1 at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea coasted to a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge this afternoon against a tepid Newcastle team.
The Blues looked confident from the very start, with Eden Hazard restored to the starting XI after a rest in midweek against Swansea.
This gave the Blues the cutting edge they had lacked up front, but it was at the back that there were concerns early on.
A mixup between Marcos Alonso and Thibaut Courtois allowed Dwight Gale in to score after Andreas Christensen lost an aerial duel with the forward.

Thankfully for Chelsea they were able to get back into the game quickly, forcing a series of saves from Karl Darlow, finally breaking through with a shot that Hazard drilled off the ground past the stopper.
They were even able to end the half on top, after Victor Moses drilled a ball across the face of goal which Alvaro Morata was on hand to head home.
From then on it was plain sailing for the Blues, who cruised through the second half with chance after chance not falling for them. Finally the supreme Cesc Fabregas released Moses into the box, he was brought down by Matt Ritchie and Hazard dinked home the penalty.
