Chelsea grind out close win over deflated Swans
Chelsea ground to a 1-0 win over struggling Swansea in the Premier League thanks to a second half header from defender Antonio Rudiger.
The German scored his first Premier League goal after N’Golo Kante’s shot was deflected into his path, just as things were getting a little desperate for the Blues.
The scoreline didn’t reflect the dominance of Antonio Conte’s team, who nevertheless struggled to break Swansea down with their attacking focal point Eden Hazard on the bench.
Swansea’s defenders were resilient and held out even when the Belgian was thrown on to make the lead more comfortable late on, but it was too much of an ask to keep Chelsea out for 90 minutes.
