Chelsea cruise to victory in Champions League return
Chelsea powered to victory at Stamford Bridge in a game that was as easy as many had predicted.
A rotated lineup missing recent hero Alvaro Morata took little time to get the scoring started, with Pedro belting home a powerful finish when he found himself in space on the edge of the box.
Soon Davide Zappacosta added a second when he burst the length of the field and flighted a cross that caught the keeper off his line.
The third came when the outstanding Cesc Fabregas nipped a ball off the outside of his foot which Cesar Azpilicueta thumped home off his forehead.
Tiemoue Bakayoko had the fourth not long after being subbed on, smashing in via a deflection in the six yard box.
Finally, after a game in which he provided a lot but snatched at his shots, it was Michy time. The Belgian took advantage of a defensive error with a lovely turn and finish; before bundling in a sixth moments later.
It was all too comfortable, but there are sterner tests ahead.
