Chelsea blow apart rotten Stoke with 5 goal show
Chelsea battered Stoke at Stamford Bridge yesterday with a confident performance.
With Eden Hazard watching from the bench the Blues found themselves in the lead after a thumping Antonio Rudiger header.
That lead was doubled by a deft Danny Drinkwater volley, and it became clear that this was going to be as easy as it had appeared.
The third came from Pedro, who fired home a great finish on the turn after being set up by Willian.
Stoke had a clear chance to score themselves in the second half, with Berahino breaking free past Gary Cahill but seeing his finish in the one on one saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea were soon back in control, producing a series of chances before winning a penalty after 75 minutes – Willian was brought down by Geoff Cameron. The Brazilian netted the spot kick to make it four.
Zappacosta lashed home a fifth in the dying minutes to give the game a scoreline that finally reflected how dominant Antonio Conte’s team had been throughout the game.
