Toby Alderweireld has enjoyed a decent season at Southampton, on loan from Atletico Madrid.
The two clubs are currently negotiating whether or not, Alderweireld should remain at St Mary’s or go back to Madrid. Despite the tricky negotiation taking place, the Belgian has attracted interest from both Tottenham and Chelsea.
His coach, Ronald Koeman is pretty confident Southampton and Atletico Madrid will find the best solution for him but insisted he won’t go to any other club in the Premier League, should he remain in the UK. He told the official club website:
The player would like to stay, we would like to keep the player but it is a little difficult at the moment with Atletico Madrid. I am hopeful that he will stay at Southampton.
