Jose Mourinho pens new deal

According to reports on Twitter, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has penned a new deal at Stamford Bridge, keeping him in West London until 2019.

Following weeks of discussions after steering the Blues to their first Premier League title in five years, the Portuguese has finalised the deal.

The new deal will confirm Mourinho’s status as the highest paid manager in the top flight of English football. His new contract will replace his current one, which still has two years remaining.

The trio of Mourinho, Rui Faria and Silvino Louro will all sign deals that will keep them at the Premier League champions until 2019.

The 52-year-old manager has always been open about his love for the club, and now ready to settle and that he doesn’t want to leave.

In an interview earlier this year, Mourinho said:

I’m not here thinking about my next move because I don’t want to have a next move. I will have a next move if and when Chelsea decides it’s time for that.

“I’m here to stay. I belong to Chelsea, Chelsea belong to me. I gave a lot to Chelsea in the past, but they also gave a lot to me.”
