Fabregas: I never hated Mourinho

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed that even though there was rivalry between Mourinho and him, he never hated his current coach.

This rivalry existed due to the clubs he played for and those his present boss managed.

The London challenge between Arsenal and Chelsea, and La Liga contention between Barcelona and Real Madrid are evidence. The 27-year-old also claimed that the chance of playing for the ‘Special OneÂ’ never came to mind some years ago.

“We had a big rivalry with Mou [Mourinho], we were against him but I never hated him,” Fabregas is quoted by the Mirror.

“Three years ago I wouldn’t have imagined working under Mourinho, but in the end, life has many turns, and more so in football.”

The Spaniard was also of the view that the modern Chelsea side plays like his former employers Arsenal from a football perspective.

“Chelsea has changed, it’s not the team that I expected. Now it’s a team that wants to have a starring role.”

“It wants to dominate games, have more possession. From a football standpoint is similar to Arsenal.”
