Our Youth has never been better than today. They have won everything that they could have won, but now the pressure is on Mourinho, will he bring through some of the youth players into the first squad?
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke are maybe the names that are mentioned mostly by Chelsea fans when they are asked which player should play for the first team next season, but there are so many other players too who could break into our first squad.
I thought I would go through all the possible players who could make it to the first team, maybe not next season but in the next 2-3 seasons. Chelsea surely have the most talented and best youth team in England and possibly Europe when they won the Uefa Youth League a month ago. But if Mourinho came to me and asked me to choose 5 players from the youth team to join the first squad, I would’ve told Mourinho to give me some time to choose because there are many options.
The players I would bring into the first squad are: Ola Aina (Right-Back), Jay Dasilva (Left-Back), Charlie Colkett (My Favourite, Central Midfielder), Jeremie Boga (Attacking Midfielder), Charly Musonda (Attacking Midfielder), Tammy Abraham (Striker) & Kasey Palmer (Attacking Midfielder).
This is without mentioning the players who are already in the first squad like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Isaiah Brown, Nathan Aké, Andreas Christensen or Dominic Solanke.
So what can we expect next season? Will we see any of these players in the first team squad? I think so yes, as Mourinho said, Ruben Loftus-Cheek won’t be a youth player next season, but instead he will be a full first squad player, that means he will play some games in the first team and he will surely fight for a starting place in the Chelsea line-up.
But what will happen to all the other players that I mentioned earlier? Well, some players will go out on loan and some will stay with the youth squads as they are still very young and others like Boga, Christensen, Brown or Solanke will maybe play in a Capital One Cup game.
