Chelsea to block Remy depature

The Daily Star are reporting that Jose Mourinho is poised to block the exit door for Loic Remy, dealing a huge blow to a number of Premier League sides.

Crystal Palace, Swansea and West Ham have all been linked with a move for the French international, but it seems as though Mourinho is keen to keep the ex-Newcastle striker at Stamford Bridge next season.

With the entrance of Colombian striker Radamel Falcao at Stamford Bridge imminent, Remy is weighing up his options, wondering if he can get as much playing time at the Blues that he wants.

Remy was Chelsea’s second choice striker since making the switch to the west London club from Queens Park Rangers last summer, but still impressed when he was called upon.

The 28-year-old will not want to drop down another place on Mourinho’s pecking order, something that seems inevitable if Roman Abramovich spends some serious money on Falcao, who played at Manchester United last campaign.
