Chelsea striker wins individual award

Bamford has finally been rewarded for his success whilst on loan from Chelsea as he has managed to win the Championship Player of the Year award. Only 21 years old, the young English striker has helped fire Middlesbrough into third place of the Championship table by scoring 17 goals alongside Grant Leadbitter and his 12.

Now after 110 career appearances he has managed to score 48 goals; furthermore, the Chelsea loanee continues to be capped by England youth teams and is currently part of the England U21s.

The prolific striker also helped contribute to Manchester City’s FA Cup exit by scoring the second goal in City’s 2-0 defeat.

But what’s next for Chelsea’s ‘Harry Kane’?

Hopefully Middlesbrough will be successful in their bid for promotion this season to the Premier League so that instead of rotting on Chelsea’s bench as a third striker, Bamford can gain some experience as a first choice striker at the top level in England. It has also been suggested that Bamford may even end up at Aston Villa on loan next season if Middlesbrough don’t get promoted or if the Chelsea board decide to loan him out to a mid-table Premier League side.

No matter what happens there is definitely no excuse for Bamford not to succeed at Chelsea as long as he continues to develop at the tremendous rate he is currently developing at.
