Chelsea midfielder heading to Spain?

Gael Kakuta is one of the players that was supposed to be the future of Chelsea, now Sevilla are interested in signing the 23 year old midfielder.

In 2007 Chelsea signed one of the most wanted talents in the world, Gael Kakuta, at the time of signing for Chelsea, he was 16 years old and cost the blues around £100,000.

He made his Chelsea debut under Carlo Ancelotti in a 2009 against Wolverhampton Wanderes, when he came on in the 59th minute for Nicolas Anelka. The fans were very impressed by the player because of his skills and pace, but now he is in his early 20’s and has played only 16 games for the Chelsea first team.

In 2011 he was loaned out to Fulham, so he could gain some experience, but it didn’t quite work out that way as he only played 7 games. After that he was loaned to 6 teams and has never has a chance to show his real qualities until this season.

This season he was loaned to Rayo Vallecano and played 38 Games this season, he has started in 35 and he has scored 5 goals and has 7 assists. After a great season, many teams are interested in him, with the likes of Sevilla and Villareal looking for his signature as his contract ends with Chelsea this summer.

Gael Kakuta is still very young (23) and hasn’t reached his best yet and who knows maybe we’ll see him on the big stage one day as the potential is there but he will need to show it.

I’d like to wish him good luck for the future and I hope he will finally show his qualities.
