It is believed that the Blues have stepped into the transfer market and are close to securing the signing of French international, Raphael Varane.
Despite it’s unreliability, and therefore may be inaccurate, Golazo Goal are reporting Chelsea have managed to agree a fee for the transfer of Raphael Varane. The Blues have been linked with the defender on numerous occasions, but it seems they may have finally gotten their man.
Varane has struggled for game time due to the preffered centre-back pairing of Ramos and Pepe despite breaking through under Mourinho’s reign.
It is believed that Mourinho wants another defender to challenge for places, with Terry turning 35 in December and Cahill’s uncertain form at times. Furthermore, Mourinho is a huge fan of the young Frenchman having signed and integrated the young centre back into the Real Madrid first team.
Both Manchester clubs have been linked to the young centre back, but It is believed that Varane’s future lies at Stamford Bridge with Mourinho said to be particularly keen on working with him
It is believed that the fee agreed is £35.8million and that the deal will be completed in the coming weeks.
