Maurizio Sarri has revealed some important news about N’Golo Kante’s injury, and while it’s not exactly good news, it could be a lot worse.
Speaking in the press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Frankfurt, the Italian coach revealed – as we had suspected – that the Frenchman has an issue with his hamstring.
With just a couple of weeks of the season left, we thought it would be game over for the former Leicester man. But in the quotes you can see from Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard below, Sarri didn’t rule out a return for the final match of the season:
#Sari says #Kante has a problem with his hamstring and needs to rest for a couple of weeks. Plan is to 'Recover him in case of the (Europa League) final, not sure if he'd be fit for the final but can try'. #cfc

It’s hard to see that happening to be honest. Even if Kante really is back training, throwing him back into action again in a European final doesn’t seem too wise, no matter how good a player he is.
But if Sarri isn’t ruling it out, nor are we. It certainly would be almost impossible to leave out a non injured Kante, no matter how little he’s played.
