Chelsea target given €60m price tag – a lot, but worth it?

Chelsea have a long standing interest in Alessio Romagnoli, the AC Milan centre back, if you believe the rumours that have done the rounds in the last couple of windows.

Our interest has never been really sourced beyond some well placed Italian journos, but there seems to have been enough consistency to it to give it some credence.

CalcioMercato now claim that the Italian side will ask for €60m for the defender. When details like this start to come out, it’s time to give even more time to them.

€60m is a lot, but then again good defenders cost a lot these days. Is there really anyone better out there on the market for significantly less?

A lot will come down to how happy the club are with Antonio Rudiger’s progress.

If he is considered to be the future at the position, the need for another top class player is less, with Andreas Christensen ever-promising.
