Apologetic Manchester City unable to shake off insecurity even after historic win

Manchester City really seem determined to make rivals out of us.

As reported by ESPN today, the Citizens have immediately apologised for playing Chelsea’s victory anthem at full time yesterday, having smashed us 6-0.

The City of Manchester Stadium belted out “One Step Beyond” by Madness at full time, a song usually reserved for a rocking Stamford Bridge at full time.

You’d think that beating one of your big rivals in historic fashion, as you hurtle on towards a thrilling end to the season might be enough for City and their fans, but clearly it’s not.

The classless mockery of the already pretty humiliated Chelsea fans was over the top, as the club have now admitted with their statement today.

Clearly, despite their wealth of recent success, they’re struggling to adjust to being a big club and having the according mentality. We’re not going to sit in glass houses and throw stones, as we’ve been guilty of similar before, but if City are really going to dominate the league for decades, we hope they pick up some manners along the way.
