Predicted XI: Maurizio Sarri to make major changes for the first time in the Premier League

Chelsea face Wolves on Wednesday night as the Premier League really begins to hot up with a midweek fixture list. That means rotations are likely to begin, especially with Man City on the horizon this weekend. Here’s who we think Maurizio Sarri will run with tomorrow night:

Kepa is a cert in goal, and Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz should play at the back barring any lingering injuries we don’t know about. At full backs, we’ll start to see some changes. Marcos Alonso’s back injury and poor showing against Fulham means Emerson Palmieri could step up. Sarri will be tempted to play Zappa at right back, but we think he’ll play it safe with Cesar Azpilicueta.

In midfield, both N’Golo Kante will probably play, but we think Ruben Loftus-Cheek might also get the nod. Jorginho is obviously favourite for that last slot, but he could be rested in favour of Cesc Fabregas too.

Out wide we might see a Pedro and Willian combination, at least to start with, while Eden Hazard is given a break.

Alvaro Morata will likely lead the line, with Giroud resting for Man City.

Overall it’s kind of a hybrid between our first and second string sides. Will it be enough to fend off a dangerous Wolves team? We’ll find out tonight.
