Antonio Conte has apparently made a very sensible decision regarding his managerial future.
Not many people turn down Real Madrid, but according to ever-reliable Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio, Conte is getting cold feet on a potential switch.
The reasoning is very sensible: the extremely good and extremely coddled players of Real Madrid won’t necessarily respond well to Conte’s high intensity, high work rate management style.
Most managers would back themselves to make their methods work, or at least back themselves to last long enough to get a decent payoff from the Spanish mega-club.
But apparently Conte, having seen how things have fallen apart at Chelsea, and imagining trying to get a squad that is used to taking things pretty easy under Zidane into shape, has taken a smart decision and will not be pursuing the vacant role at this point.
This of course is a blow to Chelsea, who will now have to sack the coach if they want rid of him.
