Next Chelsea manager soon to take over from Antonio Conte with his assistant confirmed

Chelsea will name Maurizio Sarri as their new manager very soon after the reports in Italy say the Italian is set to replace Antonio Conte this summer.

Sarri is excepted to be named Chelsea boss sooner than later after the Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the former Napoli head coach will be bringing in former Chelsea forward Gianfranco Zola as his assistant.

The Daily Mail had earlier reported that Napoli are ready to reduce their asking price of £4.5million for Chelsea to get their man.

If the Blues make the move to land Sarri, Gazzetta dello Sport say Zola will join his compatriot as an assistant.

The flying winger in the early days of the new century, Zola emerged as one of Chelsea’s best players scoring 69 goals in his time at the club.

He has had stints with English clubs as a coach with West Ham and most recently Birmingham City in 2016.
