Jose Mourinho’s brutal reaction to Willy Caballero’s mistake in Argentina’s 3-0 loss to Croatia

Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero holds the most blame after Argentina made a mess of the opportunity to find a win in the World Cup group stage and qualify for the round of 16 stage and Jose Mourinho has weighed in on the harsh reactions.

Caballero had the opportunity to be the man in post for Argentina in a tournament for the very first time, and it may well be his last. He inexplicably gave the ball away in the most dangerous area of the pitch which led to the opening goal in the 3-0 loss.

Caballero was given the ball by right back Mercado, he mistimed his kick and lobbed the ball straight into the path of Ante Rebic, who hit a first time shot to into the roof of the net to open the scoring for the Croats.

When Manchester United manager, Mourinho, was asked about the error, he comically says there would not have been any difference between him and Caballero in Argentina’s goal.

“One chance, one goal, Caballero in goal or myself would be the same because I would save the same as Caballero, there was not one single dangerous situation,”
