Half of Chelsea’s alleged double transfer swoop doesn’t add up

Chelsea have two signings ready that won’t be completed until the team have a new manager, according to TalkSport.

The sports radio station claim that the transfer team have two players ready to come in, but neither will sign on the dotted line until they know who would be coaching them at Stamford Bridge. Presumably, like us, they don’t believe it will be Antonio Conte.

The players are Jean Michel Seri, and Robert Lewandowski. We can believe the first name, as Seri would be coming from a smaller team, and Chelsea would be an upgrade for him no matter the manager. But Lewandowski?

He’s the best number 9 in the world, up there with Harry Kane. Why on earth would he want to come to a struggling Chelsea team, no matter who our manager is? It just doesn’t make sense for the Pole, who has the choice of plenty of Champions League clubs this summer.
