Giafranco Zola’s imminent travel arrangement revealed as Chelsea gets close to appointing new manager

Chelsea are getting closer to announcing a new manager after several weeks of uncertainty at the club this summer and now following the revelation that Gianfranco Zola could travel to London this week, there is belief that the Blues will make known their next manager soon.

The Blues have been by far off the strong form they enjoyed on route to the Premier League title two seasons ago and placed fifth last season, 30 points behind Manchester City.

That was not the season finish the Chelsea chiefs wanted and in combination with Conte’s public rants about transfers, Maurizio Sarri has emerged as the favorite to get the Chelsea job as per the Telegraph. His release clause in the Napoli contract complicated the deal but it looks as though Chelsea are getting close to untying him from the bondage in Italy.

According to the Evening Standard, Zola is flying to England on Wednesday, as he hopes to be part of the conclusion to the deal that makes him assistant to Sarri, who agreed personal terms with Chelsea last month.

The former Chelsea winger is currently in South Africa for punditry work for the World Cup.
