Duncan Castles reveals Chelsea’s target to replace Hazard or Willian but adds he’s ‘certainly not an upgrade’

Chelsea are in for a big summer of transfers with Antonio Conte set to leave the club and a new manager ready to pounce on the Premier League with new players.

One key player often mentioned in the transfer rumor mill lately is Willian, after it emerged last year that Jose Mourinho is keen to reunite with him following their stint at Stamford Bridge before the Portuguese manager was sacked in 2015.

The Portuguese who led Chelsea to a humiliating title defense is now manager at Manchester United and wants to work with Willian again while Eden Hazard is also a prime target for Real Madrid.

If any of those players leave this summer, Duncan Castles says Chelsea will swoop for Adama Traore. In his revelation on Transfer window podcast, Castles said Chelsea are interested in Traore following the winger’s fine displays for Middlesbrough in the Championship.

He adds that he is ‘certainly not an upgrade’.

“Chelsea are interested in Traore. They see him as a potential signing if they have to sell Hazard or Willian. He is certainly not an upgrade on those two.”
