Chelsea’s double transfer blow as prime midfielder targets taken off the table

Transfer news coming out of Italy has given Chelsea a double blow.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are very close to agreeing a deal to buy Fabian Ruiz from Betis for his release clause of €30m.

This will allow them to sanction the sale of Jorginho to Manchester City, where he looks worryingly like another piece in the puzzle of Pep’s super team. There are still plenty of options on the table for the Blues, but there prime cuts don’t stick around.

This is a double blow for Chelsea, as it means that not only are they missing out on the prime option on the market (Jorginho), they’re also missing out on the player who would be perfect as an alternative.

The tragedy is that, once Ruiz has put in a couple of good seasons in Naples, we will probably be in for him to try and sign him for €90m.
