Today is Premier League fixture day, so everyone is having a good time drawing some extremely premature conclusions. Let’s join in the fun.
We’ve already had a glace at the opening games and the Boxing Day fixture, but how about when we play the other top teams?
That will decide a lot of the Premier League’s course next year, and we have Chelsea’s games neatly compiled here by Nizaar Kinsella:
#CFC versus the top six in the PL
18 Aug – Arsenal (H)
29 Sep – Liverpool (H)
20 Oct – Man Utd (H)
24 Nov – Spurs (A)
8 Dec – City (H)
19 Jan – Arsenal (A)
9 Feb – City (A)
27 Feb – Spurs (H)
13 Apr – Liverpool (A)
27 Apr – Man Utd (A)— Nizaar Kinsella (@NizaarKinsella) June 14, 2018
The first thing to notice is that the games are pretty nicely spaced out. You’ve got one in August, one in September, one in October, one in November, one in December and one in January, before things get a little hectic with two in February and two in April.
That even distribution will is surely an advantage, as each of these fixtures will require a lot of planning and will likely be very draining on the team. Starting with a run of three of them at home will also hopefully help us build some early momentum.
