Chelsea transfer target “honoured” by links with top club

A Chelsea target has spoken about his potential move to a European club – but it’s not the Blues.

Aleksandr Golovin has been heavily linked with Chelsea in this window, but also with Juventus of Turin too.

It was on the subject of the Old Lady that the 22 year old spoke in quotes carried by the Daily Star.

“I am honoured and pleased by interest from Juventus, but I want to have a great World Cup… Juventus? They are all strong, but Paulo Dybala is the best, as he has more creativity and is my favourite.”

Golovin’s excellent start for Russia at the World Cup, where he picked up a goal and two assists in Russia’s day one thrashing of Saudi Arabia, is sure to have increased global attention in his future too.

A return of 7 goals and 6 assists for CSKA Moscow last season is solid, but one might have expected him to do even better in a weak league. It will take some more top World Cup showings – against better sides than Saudi Arabia – to convince top European clubs to pay big money for him.
