Chelsea striker disagrees with new Arsenal coach

Olivier Giroud has criticised new Arsenal boss Unai Emery for letting Jack Wilshere leave the club.

The midfielder has been at the club since coming through the academy, with the exception of a couple of loan spells, but the club informed him that he wouldn’t be needed next season and that his contract was going to be allowed to run down.

Giroud, who played with Wilshere for many years at the Emirates, is at the World Cup, but has had plenty to say on the matter, praising Wilshere’s ability as a player and saying he’s surprised that he’s being allowed to leave.

This article in the Metro has quotes from the forward, who joined Chelsea in January, saying he’s “very sad” to hear the “big news” from his old club.

But he accepts that the “new manager makes the decision”, and given he doesn’t play there anymore, it’s fair enough.

As long as Wilshere doesn’t come to Chelsea, we’ll be happy.
