Chelsea just “one step” away from manager change according to Italian sources

We’re running out of ways to describe how close the deal to bring Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea is to being done.

We’ve already heard that there’s just “two walls” between the manager and his new job, we’ve heard that there’s a “last hurdle” and that the deal is “hours away”.

None of those have turned out to be true, and now we have a new description, from Napoli Sport. They say that the coach is “one step away” from being appointed as the successor to Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

Given we thought that this managerial switch would be completed within hours of the FA Cup final finishing in May, the fact that we’re almost reaching July now and we still have Conte in charge is pretty astonishing.

We’d be laughing if this was happening to any other club, sadly it’s happening to us.

Let’s just hope that this “one step” is a small one.
