Chelsea close in on another Serie A target as Italian love affair goes on

Chelsea have been linked with yet another Italian based transfer target in the famous football paper the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Blues have made a real habit of raiding Antonio Conte’s home country since he took over the club, with Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Davide Zappacosta among the names brought in in the last two years.

Now it looks as though Palmieri’s old Roma teammate Alessandro Florenzi could be the next on the list.

Florenzo started his career as a winger, but has gradually dropped back deeper on the pitch into more of a wing back role.

He would offer a great alternative to Victor Moses and Zappacosta down the right, with Alonso and Palmieri competing on the left.

There’s still a long way to go on this deal, and this is still the first we’ve heard of such a move, meaning a lot of wheels still have to turn. But it’s definitely one of the more realistic deals in the pipeline.
