Chelsea agree five-year deal with top target and are set to finalize £30m deal with club

Chelsea are yet to agree a fee with Italian Serie A side Juventus for their young defender Daniele Rugani despite personal terms being agreed between the Blues and the player.

The option to bring in a center back this summer is a must for Chelsea who hope to improve their squad especially at the back, where Gary Cahill and David Luiz have struggled last season. Both players are in their 30s and do not look like being capable of providing the kind of steel needed at the back.

A tweet by Uber Chelsea, quoted Sport Italia, as saying Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Rugani in a five-year deal but all that remains is for both clubs to strike an agreement for the player.

Rugani will come in handy. At 23 years, Rugani is not a definite starter for Juventus and the Italy national side but has been immense anytime he has been picked.

Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta have been gret for the Blues while Antonio Rudiger also showed he can be a star at the club, last season. If Rugani joins, the Blues will have formidable center back options to last the entire campaign.
