Antonio Conte gets upper hand in summer war with Chelsea after surprise appointment in Spain

Chelsea are facing a tough decision in their managerial switch this summer after current coach Antonio Conte is left without a job to walk into, while other targets present tough demands.

The Blues are not in the same financial situation they were some years back, with owner Roman Abramovich not ready to dish out large amounts of money to land coaches. Chelsea will need to pay an amount of £9 million to send Conte off this summer, due to his contract not yet expiring.

With a year left on the deal, Conte will reluctantly leave his post at Chelsea for another job, and the Telegraph reports the Blues are now left with paying Conte off or keeping him, as the Italian does not have options of landing top jobs in the summer.

The former Juventus manager has said he will not quit his role as manager at Stamford Bridge and with Real Madrid hiring Julen Lopetegui as the manager to replace Zinedine Zidane, there is now a shortage of options across Europe now for both club and country.

The deal for Sarri may have gone cold as well as that for former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique per TalkSport.
