“It will be sad if the manager will leave” – Chelsea star bemoans Antonio Conte’s possible departure

It is almost certain if the media reports are to be believed that Antonio Conte will leave his post as Chelsea manager at the end of this season, but that will not go down too well with Olivier Giroud.

Chelsea are yet to announce their decision about the managerial position at the club. Conte will walk with pride after winning two trophies in his first two seasons, the Premier League title in his maiden season and the FA Cup in the second.

Having endured a difficult season, the Blues finished the Premier League campaign in fifth position, crashed out of the Cahmpions League in the round of 16 and also exited the Carabao Cup in the semi final losing to Arsenal in the semi final.

Giroud has been one of the standout players since his arrival at the club in January and has been interested in working with the manager beyond this current campaign. Having been signed by the Italian in the winter transfer window, the France international would prefer to work with him a lot more.

“It will be sad if the manager will leave. We need to move on – I have got a World Cup and then I will think about next year. I want to win some more trophies with Chelsea.”
