Thibaut Courtois could leave Chelsea on a high after a superb Cup Final performance

Thibaut Courtois had a great game yesterday, and was the best player on the pitch according to WhoScored’s proprietary ratings system.

The keeper racked up a score of 8/10, which was better than anyone else on the pitch. Even Man Of the Match Antonio Rudiger only managed 7.3, and the superb N’Golo Kante only got a 7.7.

It’s a testament to the exceptional performance that Courtois put in, dealing with several one on ones that could have changed the game entirely, and coming to claim every high ball that came into the area, including the final attacking play of the match for Man United, a dangerous corner swung into the six yard box that the big Belgian calmly collected.

We don’t know what will happen to Thibaut this summer, and there’s a chance that this was his last game for Chelsea. If that’s the case then he’s unquestionably gone out on a high.
