How Tammy Abraham can fit into Chelsea’s uncertain striker setup

Antonio Conte and Cesc Fabregas have this week both blamed bad finishing for Chelsea’s issues this season, and it’s hard to argue.

So many games have slipped though their fingers after a glut of chances wasted by Alvaro Morata or one of the attacking midfielders.

What can the club do address this issue? The obvious answer is buy a new striker, and that’s almost certainly on the cards. Olivier Giroud is a solid option but the club must be aware that they are moving backwards if they go into next season with him as first choice.

The transfer market is the obvious solution, but perhaps Tammy Abraham could provide a wildcard option. The youngster scored a handful for a dreadful Swansea team this season and could probably do a lot better with some players around him.

If the club don’t sell Morata, then Tammy could be in a great position behind him and Giroud to make his breakthrough this season.
