Chelsea may have had their green light to part ways with Antonio Conte after it emerged that former Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti has signed for Napoli to replace Maurizio Sarri.
Ancelotti, via the BBC, is said to have penned a three year deal at the Serie A club and now replaces Sarri, who never won any silverware at the club in his three-year stint.
Sarri has been a target for Chelsea, and according to reports in Italy, delayed the process to renew his contract that had a year to run. That pushed Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis to speed up the process to sign the former Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain tactician to take over the reins at Naples.
After the announcement of Ancelotti as new head coach, de Laurentiis took to Twitter to thank Sarri for his service to the club in the last three years.
I'd like to thank Maurizio Sarri for his valuable contribution to the Napoli cause. He brought joy and prestige to Naples and Napoli fans all over the world with an entertaining brand of football that drew praise from all quarters. Well done, Maurizio.

The 59-year old led Napoli to a title push that resulted in accumulating 90 points without winning the Scudetto, the first time that had happened in the history of the division.
