The numbers that prove Willian was rude, wrong and ungrateful in blocking out Antonio Conte in his Instagram post

Shortly after Chelsea won the FA Cup final over Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday, the expectations were that the players would be enjoying their end of season success with their manager, although there will be a few discontent in the squad.

But very few would have tipped Willian to be one of those discontent few. Yes, he did not start the game – one as crucial as a cup final against Man Unite, but his overall season proves Conte has done enough for him.

In the FA Cup, barring the final, Willian started and completed four out of the five games that preceded the final. He was substituted only once which was in the semi final against Southampton. Featuring six times in six games in the competition this season, Willian has to be grateful he had 456 minutes out of the total 567 minutes Chelsea lasted on the pitch against six opponents according to Transfermarkt.

The Brazil star was used in the Premier League 36 times out of a total 38 games. Conte started him 20 of those games while he was brought on 16 times in the top flight. His inconsistent form ensured that. It was not until March that Chelsea fans began to see his magic on the ball consistently after his brutish displays against Barcelona and Manchester United.

When Willian blocked out Conte from his posted picture in Instragram, many would be wondering what was going in the mind of the player who has been shown faith by his manager in a tough season.

The least Willian could do in a season as this, was come out and thank his boss for retaining faith in him and getting him back to his best when all seemed lost. His Chelsea career was almost written off by fans until Conte restores him to the side.

Perhaps, Willian is pushing for the move to Man United, Manchester Evening News has reported lately, but this is a wrong move that will upset everyone connected to Chelsea, especially as many think players are integral in the sacking of some good managers that have come and left the club.
