Michy Batshuayi reacts to Belgium’s 2018 World Cup selection on Twitter

Michy Batshuayi is delighted to be part of Belgium’s 2018 World Cup selection by manager Roberto Martinez, saying ‘it’s a dream come true’.

The 25-year old striker has been injured since April after picking up a nasty injury while playing for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Initial reports said he would miss out on the World Cup after injuring his ankle ligaments but an amazing turnaround in his health ensured the former Marseille forward was training in early May.

He was sent on loan by Chelsea to the German club in January after he requested for more minutes, following his inability to usurp Alvaro Morata in the starting 11.

His spell at Dortmund was a fruitful one after scoring 10 goals in 14 games for the German top flight club in all competitions.

That did not go unseen by the Red Devils’ technical team who have added Batshuayi to Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Crystal Palace’s forward Christian Benteke and Michy is an excited man.
