Maurizio Sarri would sign key Serie A striker to solve goal scoring problems at Chelsea, if he signs for Blues

Chelsea are close to announcing their next step in the managerial confusion in the coming season, with Antonio Conte denying he will leave while several reports suggests the Blues are close to agreeing deals with Maurizio Saari.

Chelsea finished fifth this season, behind rivals Tottenham Hotspur and the club’s top hierarchy have for sometime been pondering sacking their manager and hiring another who has a reputation of playing attacking football.

That has led to their chase of Sarri, who led Napoli to finish second this season behind Juventus, and made them into one of the best attacking sides in Europe.

Tuttosport reports via the Daily Mail say that if Sarri is brought to Stamford Bridge, he will attempt to play the beautiful football that attracted Chelsea and he thinks Gonzalo Higuain will prove vital in his project.

Having worked together at Napoli before Higuain signed for Juventus in the summer of 2015, both men know each other well and may be willing to reunite. It has however, not been established how much Juventus will demand for the services of the Argentina international after they paid in excess of £75m for him three years ago.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier that Sarri has told his backroom staff to begin English lessons as he edges closer to signing for Chelsea next summer.
